Anna McGoldrick is Ireland's first lady of comedy and song. She was born in Castleblayney, County Monaghan. She was discovered on Hughie Greene's "Opportunity Knocks" on the ITV television network in England. She has won the prestigious Variety Club of Great Britain Award as the best performer on television. She won the C.A.M.A. Award in Ireland for the best concert and cabaret performer, in the country. She is also the only woman, in the history of Irish television, to present the mammoth "live to air" New Year's Eve Special, as well as the only woman to present the St. Patrick's Day Special.

She is a major television star, having had four series in Canada (CBC), and seven of her own television series in Ireland. Anna has appeared on PBS television in the U.S.A. in her own variety specials, each March, since 1990 and she is taping more shows in October, for next year. No stranger to radio, Anna also presented her own radio program each week, in the Canadian Maritimes.

Anna McGoldrick has recorded seventeen albums of song and her two comedy albums. "Queen of the Blarney" and "More Jokes & Blarney" are blockbuster successes. She has released two videos called "It's the Irish In Me" and "Favorite Irish Songs" both of which are distributed internationally.

Each year - Anna personally escorts her "Musical Tour of Ireland" and those who have enjoyed her annual Irish tours have said it was the "vacation of a lifetime".

Anna and her charming husband Michael Nolan received beautiful flowers and a special commemorative plaque from the tourists on their first Musical Tour of Ireland. They keep this plaque in a place of honor in their Dublin home.

   

Anna and her talented son Gerard, with Jerry Cooney "the Great White Hope" who was a contender for the World Heavy Weight Boxing Title. Jerry came to Anna's show in New Jersey, U.S.
